Hearing that we were heading to Florida this summer J’s first request that we head to Legoland especially for his birthday – he turned 6 and a lot of his friends and his cousin had all been to Legoland for their 6th birthday’s this year so we got our tickets and planned for a day at Legoland during our 2 week stays. Day 4 of our vacation and we headed there. We’d been to Sea World, Magic Kingdom and Typhoon Lagoon as well as on a previous visit Kennedy Space Centre, Universal Studio’s and Universal Islands of Adventure so expected the entry into the park to follow a similar procedure
- bag check
- go to the gate
- scan the card
- use fingerprints
Instead our experience with our Legoland Florida Tickets was different and fairly confusing as it was so different than others.
We bought our tickets from Attraction Tickets Direct and they came as a paper copy – seeing my brother’s ticket which he purchased in the USA this is the form of their e-tickets and perfectly normal. Instead of the normal procedure described above we had a very round about way of getting in the pack. I don’t know whether this is because we had a 14 days pass as part of the Sea World and Legoland ticket package or whether it’s normal for tickets from the UK but instead of heading straight through into Legoland you have to go and get your identification verified sign your tickets in front of the customer service department and then proceed to enter. We were also told that if at any time we wanted to come back we would have to do the same again.
Entering Legoland – with a paper ticket from the UK
Check if your ticket has space for your signature and details on if it does follow these steps if not go to the gate as you would at other parks in the Orlando area.
- Take photo ID for all adults in your party
- Upon arrival head towards the customer service booths (end of the row of ticket booths around number 13 and 14)
- Hand over the tickets and your ID
- They will verify the tickets are in your name
- Sign and date for your tickets and then for your visit
- Each subsequent visit head to the booth and sign and date for your visit
Compared to the other parks in and around Orlando this was a lot of hassle especially when the kids were really excited to enter the park and get exploring.
