As you walk around the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World there are little girls around the park dressed as their favourite princesses and then a few extra’s catch your eye and if you have your own little girl with you there will be the call out “Mummy I want to be a Princess too” as this was the kids first visit to Walt Disney World and we were also celebrating our eldest’s birthday we decided to embrace the magic of Disney to the fullest and booked our little Princess for the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and The Castle Package.
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique
The Boutique is located inside the castle – a truly magical place. We booked in early you have to book in advance for early appointments and we called up 180 days before hand for the first appointments of the day (check out the important dates for your Walt Disney World Vacation) and we got access to the park before it officially opened. So a quick walk down an empty main street and into the castle where the girls were greeted by their Fairy Godmothers in training.
The Fairy Godmother’s in Training
Whilst in Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique which ever package you choose your little princess is treated just like that, with a fairy godmother in training that is there to turn them into a princess of their choice. Each is dressed identically and as with all Disney Cast Members you have staff that speak English, Spanish and multitude of other languages.
The Fairy Godmother’s in training take the girls and sit them in their chairs and them turn them from normal girls into a princess, hair, make-up, dress, nails it’s a full princess experience.
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique – The Packages
There are different packages and even one for boys (although we chose the extra special Pirates League for the little guys in our party this trip) they range from The Knight Package at $19.95 + Tax through to The Castle Package at $194.95 + Tax. More information about the individual packages can be found on the Walt Disney World Site.
We went for The Castle Package – the full package – first the girls age 3+ (under 3’s we recommend the first hair cut or pixie treatment at the Barbers shop) were taken to choose their princess outfit. T true to form chose Rapunzel, a little feisty and she was sure that she would look good with her trainers on!
Once dressed they were led to their own chair and the transformation started.
We had already purchased photo passes for our trip so along with my pictures the official Disney Cast Member Photographers took pictures of the transformation.
We decided whilst we were there we would purchase the extra image package – at $34.95 + Tax we would then have pictures of T printed out that we could frame when we got home. The pictures are taken at Castle Courture in a special section of the room.
Why it’s worth it
Ok – so you’ve probably read the cost and had a little ahhh moment that’s a lot of money – and yes it is it was a birthday present as well as the first visit and unless we are there for another birthday. BUT, it really was worth it. T was enhancted by the experience she didn’t speak through the whole process in awe of what she was seeing once finished she loved her dress and hair and then we left Castle Courture it was like she was royalty. Every cast member greeted her with a bow and princess which made her smile. When we joined her brother and cousin dressed as pirates especially the birthday boy the cast within Magic Kingdom were amazing.
Check out the pirate fight the boys had with a cast member as we waited for some Pirate training.
T’s Point of View
I liked when she added sparkley stuff to my face and I liked J as a pirate. I liked what F was dressed up as – Ariel. (T age 5)
